Recognising that health and wellness are a fundamental human right, the safety of officers and the members of the public that we serve is paramount.

The Human Rights Commission will open their offices to the general public on Monday, June 1, 2010.

The Commission has been operating remotely since March 23, 2020 in accordance with the Government of Bermuda’s public health advisories.

An essential feature of the Commission’s service delivery is being accessible to all members of the public. The Commission recognizes that some individuals do not have access to a landline, the internet, a smart phone, or a computer. With this in mind, the Commission will again provide walk-in services for people with inquiries or complaints. To be clear, this service is for people who are unable to access the Commission by email or phone.

 For the protection of visitors and staff, the highest level of physical distancing and safety protocols have been implemented.

Mondays and Fridays – 8:45AM to 1:00PM
Wednesdays – 12:00PM to 5:00PMProtocols

  • Everyone entering the office must a) sanitize their hands and, b) wear a face covering at all times which covers the nose and mouth. Anyone without a facemask will be provided with one.
  • Temperature screenings will be conducted on both Officers and visitors.Strict physical distancing measures will be in place.
  • The office will be thoroughly cleaned daily.
  • While it is our preference that only one person at a time visits the office to submit a complaint or inquiry, it is acknowledged that circumstances may arise where it is not practical for an individual to attend alone, in which case, a follow-up appointment may be scheduled.


How to Contact the Human Rights Commission
The Commission remains open and accessible remotely to members of the public. The Commission is available to address queries, concerns or complaints of discrimination or harassment under the Human Rights Act 1981, and to provide balanced guidance to all stakeholders – including government, businesses, advocates and individuals – on human rights considerations and compliance during this challenging time.
